전문기능직이민제도 접수 시작

한국인 신청자 고용제안 받기 어려울 듯

 

전문기능직이민제도(Federal Skilled Trades Program) 접수가 지난 2일 시작됐다. 이민부는 금년 한해 동안 이 프로그램을 이용 3000명의 이민자를 받아들인다는 방침이다. 몇몇 캐나다 업계의 구인난을 해소하기 위해 이 이민제도가 도입됐다는 것이 몇몇 이주알선업체측의 설명이다.

전문기능직 이민제도의 장점은 수속 기간이 약 12개월로 비교적 짧다는 데에 있다. 하지만 한인사회에서 이 제도를 통해 영주권을 취득하는 사례는 많지 않을 것으로 예상된다. 그 이유에 대해 케니 탐(Tam) 케이앤케이 이민컨설팅 대표는 한국인 신청자들이 고용주의 고용제안(잡오퍼) 받는 것이 쉽지 않을 것이기 때문이라고 밝혔다.

신청인은 영어 혹은 불어 능력(CLB 레벨 말하기·듣기 5 이상, 읽기·쓰기 4 이상)을 증빙해야 하며, 최근 5년 중 2년 이상의 업무 경력, 고용주의 잡오퍼나 주정부의 기능 자격증이 있어야 한다.

신청 가능한 직업군은 A와 B로 나뉜다. A그룹은 직군별로 100명씩만 접수를 받을 계획이고, B그룹은 신청 인원에 제한이 없다. 전기 기술자, 용접공, 중장비 정비사, 배관공 등이 신청할 수 있다.
